Until literally this morning at 3 am- when I woke up with my baby clawing at my chest and wriggling around for milk- I NEVER considered a blog. I knew my website editor had the option- but as I woke up with specific words going through my head for WHATEVER reason I felt in my bones I needed to start this today.
My name is Rachel Grenley. I am 32 years old, and a very passionate and driven person. From an early age I was interested in anything of mystery. The unseen. Magick. The history that is lost, and untold. Legend, lineage, and birthright. Growing up with these intense feelings and thoughts led me to such raw, beautiful and unique experiences. But there are two events in my life that stand out as the most transformative. 1. Graduating from graduate Homeopathy School in the backcountry of rural Ireland with alchemists magicians and masters of the ancient healing craft. 2. Birthing my first born daughter unassisted with just my partner and my Mother in a dark room.
My business The Root Cellar Co in a nutshell- reflects the dynamic wisdom of these two events and everything leading up to them, and encompasses every possible thread that I can weave into the deep ways in which to serve humanity. I am a builder, I am a maker, I am a healer, I am a fighter, I am a Mother.
My main purpose for this blog- is to have a place where Homeopaths & Herbalists can come to witness my writings and experiences with plant medicines.
Homeopaths dislike being conflated with Herbalists, and vice versa. I know- becuase I am both. I have scratched my head and harassed every teacher on this topic- how do Homeopathy and Herbalism go together when they are seemingly contradictory.
One of my greatest gifts in life is synthesizing ideas that are seemingly unrelated. I blame my obsession with ascending duality (damn you Hegel). My eye for how things connect has really led me right here typing now.
Over the years I have been studying plant medicines. From a homeopathic perspective, herbalism, and deeply intutive personal perspectives in which I will name for recognition as "meditation provings" (a common homeopathic practice)
Homeopathic provings are "logic meets shamanism." There are a few plants I have been drawn to explore the deeper genetic coding of. This blog will most defiitley be a starting point for publishing some of this tedious work I have done- but I also hope to provide other practitioners valuable information on some of these lesser known plant medicines and various ways to use them. Stay tuned.
Thank you for listening.
PS- I may throw some stuff about birth as well becuase how can you not.
Bless.
